Favorite thing about the new year- buying a new planner. Biggest frustration of a new year- trying to find a planner I like. I am very picky- it HAS to be 12 month, weekly, with monday- wednesday on the left side and thursday-sunday on the right, no silly colors or designs, fits in the purse. Also I have to feel a strong connection to it (because I'm crazy.) I drove to five stores today to find my planner. FIVE.

its 2010!
Doesn't it look funny when you write it out- 2010? it sort of looks like a word.
anyway- New Years resolution- 20 pounds in 4 months. Is that possible? I hope so...
Mom and I ordered the bridesmaid dresses this week. I let them pick their own dresses by Amsale. I am very relieved that this decision has been made and I can stop looking for dresses. So, they are perfect, and will work perfectly with my dress, and suit each girl's personality.
Started looking at flowers- This is difficult. I don't really care what sort of flowers, I just want them to be the right colors. The plan was to just buy bulk and the day of the wedding the ladies and I would make bouquets and centerpieces. I figure this will be better than sitting around feeling nauseous. Plus why should you pay someone ($50 per bridesmaid bouqet, $100 bridal bouquet) for something that you are perfectly capable of and pretty good at doing. The hard part is saying I have 10 tables, 3 bridesmaids, 5 boutineer.. hmm.. 6 dozen of these, and 4 dozen of these. My brain doesn't work that out.
Had my 1st almost mini breakdown over bridemaid dresses not matching my colors/flowers.. nothing too serious, felt a minor heart attack. Then the next day I went and saw the dresses said- oh nevermind, it matches. Mom compared me to the scene of Julie & Julia when Julia burned the beef bourguignon (I was not that dramatic).
Training for my second job tomorrow.. I'm already exhausted with the one (I'm so full of good ideas). I guess I'd better go spend some time with the fiance.. since this is the first day this week I didn't fall alseep the second my rump met the couch.
2010- Its going to be a big year.

Registering
Tonight we went to Bed Bath and Beyond to start building our registry. Everyone is doing Target these days, but their return policy is real screwy (something like only two returns allowed a year). BB&B's policy is whatever whenever! I thought it would be really fun, picking out a bunch of presents, but it was stress-city.
Pyrex bake ware or corning ware? Cuisineart or Kitchenaid? Non-stick or all clad? And oh we already have this and that, but should we get new/nicer ones? And what is the point of a toaster oven, if we have an oven and a toaster? Do we buy in package or separate?
It was so overwhelming, I felt like I was getting ten of the same little things and couldn't make a decisions on the important stuff. Not to mention Jean-Paul and I have such different tastes. He wants all the cool modern gadgets and I want everything retro or timeless.
I must have compared muffin tins for fifteen minutes. Poor Jean-Paul.. Back this weekend for round two!
